I get why people love the 8 way directional whipping, but it made the subweapons useless and made the game way too easy. The original castlevania was designed in a purposeful and specific way that made the player more aware of their choices. Super Castlevania 4 takes all of that away and is a lot more mindless. I much prefer Castlevania games without the 8 way whipping imo.

I’ll always be a Rondo of Blood stan, but other than Rondo, I’d say probably 3. It was truly groundbreaking in a way that no other NES game besides maybe Metroid could be. Edit: And Super Mario Bros 3 no idea how I forgot that one

I am personally a Dracula X PSP sort of guy. I do like the Anniversary Edition HD for NES as well using Nestopia not Mesen.
